If you ask us, you should have at least as many glasses as you have shoes! Each one is unique for different events, needs, vocations and avocations. Take off your driving glasses once you get to work and use the office glasses to help your focusing system relax and not work so hard. While your sunglasses cut glare and block UV light, your reading glasses magnify that tiny print. From your head to your toes, Kelly is here to find the right fit based on your prescription, needs and style. From personal training to helping you select the best fitting glasses, Kelly is here to help you live your best life.
While continuing to expand her knowledge of the optical world, Kelly is excited to bring her passion for healthcare and wellness to Theia Vision Care™.
Theia Vision Care™ Optician and Social Media Manager
Hey there, I’m Holly. A fun fact about me is that going to the optometrist was the one trip to the doctor I didn’t hate as a kid! I’ve been wearing glasses for going on 20 years and contact lenses for about 12 years now. I love having the option to wear either depending on what I’m up to that day- hello versatility. I am severely near-sighted, so it’s really important to me that I find ways to enjoy life to the fullest degree without thick, heavy glasses holding me back. One day, I want to help others in the same life-changing way my eye doctor helped me! The gift of sight is so precious.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology: pre-optometry track in Spring 2019. I decided I wanted to get more hands-on experience before heading off to optometry school myself. This journey brought me to Theia Vision Care in the summer of 2019 to fill in for Kelly – and I haven’t left since! I mainly work as the resident optician and social media manager. I like to think that I bring a refreshing dose of positivity, the thirst for learning and improvement, and strong problem solving and organization skills to the table. Follow us on Instagram and like our Facebook page @theiavisioncare. I can’t wait to meet you and use my optical training and personal experience to find the right fit for you in our optical.
I grew up in Franklin, WI on the south side of Milwaukee, where I spent most of my time at gymnastics practice, dancing on my competitive and decorated high school poms team, and working at the local grocery store with my friends. I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life exactly, but I always knew I wanted to proactively help others and put my knowledge to the test. During college, I was a captain of the hip hop dance team, danced on a semi-pro basketball dance team, moonlit as a bartender downtown, and was the VP of the pre-optometry club. I was a busy bee! After college, I moved back down to the Milwaukee area to continue my journey in the eye care industry.
Outside of work, you can find me studying for optometry school, reading up on the latest scientific discoveries and news, exploring the great outdoors through hiking and biking, and so much more. Some of my favorite memories were made at our family cabin up north where I learned how to ride a dirtbike and spend time with family. My favorite place to visit to date is the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. I love to bake, have a giant sweet tooth, and am a self-proclaimed foodie. They say music and food are for the soul! I love to try new things and am always up for a challenge.
